First guesses for Parks and Rec, The Office, Community and Gilmore Girls
The sitcom games are the busiest corner of Bingedle. In its first few days, Parksdle alone saw more than a thousand finished Classic rounds. They are also much smaller than the anime and video game boards: between 29 and 46 characters can be the daily answer, so a good first guess can leave you with one or two names. To find those guesses we scored every character as an opener against every possible answer, counting how many answers would still match the tiles you see. Here is what came out for each show, and what it says about the way each cast is built.
Parks and Recreation: Tom Haverford
| Opener | Characters left on average |
|---|---|
| Tom Haverford | 1.48 |
| Ben Wyatt | 1.55 |
| Donna Meagle | 1.55 |
| Ron Swanson | 1.69 (5th) |
| Andy Dwyer | 2.24 (19th) |
Parksdle has 73 characters, and 29 of them can be the answer. Tom wins because he has worked almost everywhere. His Workplace clue lists the Parks Department, City Hall, Entertainment 720, Rent-A-Swag and Tom’s Bistro, and Workplace is a list, so any answer who shares one of those turns it yellow. Since 15 of the 29 possible answers worked at City Hall, Tom sorts the board into “same building”, “somewhere he also worked” and “nowhere near him” in one guess. His seasons (1 to 7) and his ending (married) match the bulk of the main cast, so the season arrows and the Relationship ladder do the rest.
Ron Swanson is nearly as good for the same reason: four workplaces and three jobs. The weakest openers are the one-off characters such as Tammy Zero, Trevor Nelsson and Lord Edgar Covington, who leave between 7 and 9 characters, because almost nothing about them is shared with the rest of Pawnee.
The Office: Andy Bernard (and four others tied with him)
Officedle has 51 characters and 33 possible answers. Five openers tie for first at 1.48 characters left: Andy Bernard, Stanley Hudson, Phyllis Vance, Clark Green and Todd Packer. Jim Halpert is sixth (1.55), Pam Beesly seventh (1.61) and Michael Scott 16th (2.09).
The five have one thing in common: all of them worked in Sales, the biggest department among the possible answers. Andy adds breadth on top (Sales Representative and later Regional Manager, Sales and Management, Stamford and then Scranton), while Stanley, Phyllis and Todd Packer are Scranton salespeople who were around from season 1 to season 9, so their season arrows split the newer characters from the originals. Branch on its own is a weak clue in this game, because 26 of the 33 possible answers worked in Scranton. Michael is weaker than you might expect because his row is narrow: one job title, one department and a branch most of the cast shares.
Community: Pierce Hawthorne, or a deep cut
Communitydle has 70 characters, 42 of whom can be the answer. The single best opener is Quendra (1.62), a student tied to Jeff who appears from season 2 to season 4. She can be typed as a guess even though she is never the daily answer. Among the regulars, Pierce Hawthorne is best at 1.67, then Sean Garrity and Alan Connor. Jeff is 14th (2.33), Troy 17th (2.38) and Abed only 46th (3.43).
The reason is the Study group clue, which is a ladder: the original seven of Study Room F, the Committee members who joined later, and everyone else. A guess one rung away shows yellow. Pierce is in the study group, ties to himself on the Linked to clue, and lists both Student and Businessperson as occupations, which overlaps more of the school than Abed’s Student and Filmmaker. Communitydle was also the easiest game on Bingedle in its first days: 499 rounds, 95% solved, 3.4 guesses on average.
Gilmore Girls: start in Stars Hollow, but not with a Gilmore
| Opener | Characters left on average |
|---|---|
| Lindsay Lister, Bootsy, Sophie Bloom | 2.30 |
| Dean Forester | 2.43 |
| Jess Mariano | 2.52 |
| Lorelai Gilmore | 2.74 (9th) |
| Luke Danes | 3.78 (29th) |
Gilmoredle has 69 characters and 46 possible answers, and 25 of those answers live in Stars Hollow. The best openers are townies: Lindsay Lister, Bootsy the newsstand owner and Sophie Bloom from the music store, all Stars Hollow residents in the Townie circle. Their Home and Circle tiles split the town from Hartford, New Haven and everywhere else straight away, and their seasons sit in the middle of the run.
The worst opener in the game is Paul, Rory’s forgotten boyfriend from A Year in the Life (which the game counts as season 8). His Home is “Other”, his circle and job are both “None”, and he appears in one season, so his row looks the same against almost every answer. Gilmoredle turned out to be the hardest of the four: 734 rounds, 86% solved and 5.8 guesses on average.
The pattern across all four
The best openers share their clues with big groups of the cast: Pawnee City Hall, the Dunder Mifflin sales floor, Greendale’s students, the Stars Hollow townies. Their season ranges sit where the arrows split the cast, and in the list clues, breadth helps, because sharing any one item with the answer earns a yellow. The worst openers are one-season or background characters whose rows say “Other”, “None” or “Unknown”. Every number here comes from each game’s own character data and its answer pool as of 2 November 2026.
